Louise is one of Britain's most successful rally drivers. She was a winner out of 'Ford's Find a Lady Driver' competition in 1979. The following year she was competing in club and national rallies, driving a Ford Escort. She was the first woman to win a national rally outright in Britain in 1983 and went on to become Ladies European Champion. She twice won the Coupe des Dames on the Monte Carlo Rally. She survived an horrific accident in Portugal in 1990, but went on to become the first British driver to win a World Rally title 'F.I.A. Ladies' World Rally Champion,' driving for GM Eurosport. She was made an MBE in 1992.
